About Matt
Matt opened Coach House Fitness in 2021 offering private 1-to-1 coaching, specialising in HIIT, circuit training, nutrition, weight management and soft tissue dysfunction (Sports Massage).
With over 20 years’ experience in the security and fitness industry, Matt is a Chartered Security Professional, Level 3 Personal Trainer, Level 3 Sports Massage therapist, English Ski Council qualified club instructor and Men’s Physique athlete, having secured podium finishes in multiple UK & European bodybuilding competitions.
Matt has a wide depth of knowledge in the industry with a Bachelor’s degree in science with honours and a Masters degree with distinction from Portsmouth University. After training with the prestigious English Ski council and securing the British Alpine 3 Star award in 2001, Matt then went on to coach at “Club Instructor” level before relocating to the Middle East, moving into the high security industry working throughout the GCC, Asia and South Africa.
In 2020, Matt was accredited by the Security Institute as a Chartered Security Professional, the gold standard in the profession, awarded to professionals with both experience and theoretical application across the industry. Matt excels in bridging the gap between theory & practical application of biomechanics, strength and nutrition.

About Dr. Ness
Dr. Vanessa Bartholomew, PhD, is a Physical Training (PT) instructor and registered midwife enthusiastic and committed to helping individuals of all ages and abilities improve their strength, confidence, and overall fitness. Vanessa's classes focus on functional movement, endurance, and well-being, supporting people at various life stages—from pregnancy and postnatal recovery to maintaining strength and mobility for life, or beginning a running journey.
With a particular interest in strength training, mobility and functional fitness for long term wellness, and making exercise accessible and enjoyable, Vanessa offers a range of group or 1:2:1 sessions. PT classes, Fit for Life (55+), Strong for Two (antenatal), Strong Foundations (postnatal), and Couch to 5K jogging sessions. 1:2:1 sessions are tailored to meet your particular needs. Vanessa's approach creates a friendly, supportive environment where participants can move well, build strength, and develop a long-term appreciation for staying active.
